Puffin Fratercula arctica
Puffins are everyone's favourite and a very popular subject for photography. Nevertheless getting good images, especially flight shots is not always easy.
These images were all taken on Shetland - either at hermanesse NNR on Unst, Noss NNR or at Sumburgh Head at the southern tip of Mainland. Here the sea cliffs are easily accessible at the RSPB Reserve and there are lots of vantage points for the photographer.
Nikon D4s and 200-400 f4 lens or Nikon D500 and 100-400 f4.5-5.6 lens. Hand held
